I genuinely would have loved to be in Manchester around 1984/85. I have no interest in what The Haçienda became in the '90s, but reading Audrey Golden's book about the women of Factory and hearing someone say "it was like a student union" when it first opened, with people reading books and playing board games in quiet corners during gigs and a hairdresser in the basement? I would have LOVED that!
